Author Guidelines

PUBLICATION STANDARDS

Authors interested in publishing in Star Law Review Derecho y Jurisprudencia must submit their manuscripts via email to starlawreview@gmail.com or through the journal's online submission system. Only original, unpublished manuscripts that are not under simultaneous review by other journals will be considered.

The journal accepts manuscripts in Spanish or English. For submissions in English, at least one of the authors must be a native speaker, or the text must be translated by a certified professional.

MANUSCRIPT FORMAT AND STRUCTURE

Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), using Garamond font, size 12, with 1.15 line spacing and A4 page size.

Structure of the manuscript:

  • Length: between 11 and 20 pages (approximately 3,500 to 8,000 words)

  • Title: in both Spanish and English, with a maximum of 15 words

  • Author information: include email address, ORCID identifier (e.g., https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2237-7613), and institutional affiliation

  • Abstract: in both Spanish and English, with a maximum of 240 words

  • Keywords: 3 to 5, in both Spanish and English, separated by commas

Main body:

  • For research articles: Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions

  • For other types of articles: Development and Conclusions

ADDITIONAL ELEMENTS

  • Page numbers: must appear centered at the bottom of each page

  • Tables and figures: numbered consecutively, with titles placed above. Figures must be submitted in .jpg or .png format, with a maximum width of 10 cm and a maximum file size of 100 KB

  • Footnotes: numbered using Arabic numerals, with a maximum length of 60 words each

  • Appendices: must be referenced in the text and included at the end of the manuscript

CITATIONS AND REFERENCES

References must adhere to the APA 7th edition style. A minimum of 15 references is required, preferably published within the last five years. Priority should be given to sources indexed in Scopus or SciELO. References must appear in alphabetical order at the end of the document, using hanging indentation.

Examples:

  • Book: Last Name, A. A. (Year). Book title. Publisher

  • Journal article: Last Name, A. A. (Year). Article title. Journal Name, volume(issue), xx–xx

PLAGIARISM POLICY

The editorial board uses specialized software to detect text similarities and ensure the originality of submissions, rejecting or returning manuscripts with signs of plagiarism or uncredited reuse.

PRIVACY STATEMENT

The personal information provided by authors, such as names and email addresses, will be used solely for editorial purposes and will not be shared with third parties.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
