PEER REVIEW POLICY

Star of Sciences Multidisciplinary Journal, published by Estrella Ediciones, adheres to a rigorous and transparent peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic impact of all articles. The journal uses a double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure objectivity and impartiality.

Phase 1: Initial Evaluation

The process begins with an internal editorial review. Within a maximum of 72 hours, authors are notified via email and receive a unique reference number. During this phase, the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned editor assesses the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s aims, its originality, academic relevance, and potential contribution to scientific knowledge.

Manuscripts may be rejected at this stage if they fail to meet journal standards, show structural flaws, unclear findings, or plagiarism. In ambiguous cases, the Editorial Committee will be consulted for additional input.

Approved manuscripts proceed to the peer review stage.

Phase 2: Double-Blind Peer Review

Selected manuscripts are reviewed by subject matter experts under a double-blind peer review system. Reviewers assess the following:

  • Relevance and academic impact

  • Clarity and coherence of writing

  • Theoretical rigor and logical structure

  • Appropriateness and currency of references

  • Methodological soundness

  • Depth of analysis

  • Originality and significance of conclusions

Reviewers have up to 30 days to complete their evaluations. If revisions are required, authors are given between 8 and 15 days depending on the nature of the requested changes.

Phase 3: Editorial Quality Control

After peer review, the editorial team performs quality control, including grammar, style, and adherence to journal formatting guidelines. They also verify the manuscript’s alignment with the journal's objectives.

Publication is not guaranteed at this point; the final decision depends on the editorial schedule, thematic priorities, and overall impact.

Total Editorial Process Time

The full editorial process typically takes between 8 and 12 weeks, depending on article complexity and reviewer availability.
