DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

In order to ensure the long-term accessibility and preservation of the published content, Imperium Académico Multidisciplinary Journal implements various digital preservation strategies:

  • Regular Backups: Regular backups are made of the journal's servers and files to prevent data loss.

  • Continuous OJS Software Updates: The Open Journal Systems (OJS) software is constantly maintained and updated to prevent technological obsolescence, with plans for future migrations if necessary.

  • DOI Assignment: Each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring its traceability and permanent access over time.

  • Storage in Multiple Formats: Articles are stored in various formats (PDF, HTML, XML-JATS) to facilitate accessibility and future reproduction.

  • Reduction of Technological Dependencies: Technical procedures are thoroughly documented to ensure the self-sufficiency of the long-term preservation system.

  • Active Preservation Strategies: Techniques such as data rejuvenation, technological migration, digital archaeology, and software preservation are implemented to ensure the continuity and accessibility of the content.

Additionally, Imperium Académico Multidisciplinary Journal is part of the LOCKSS Private Network (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and the Public Knowledge Project - Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN). These collaborative initiatives allow the journal's content to be stored in a decentralized manner in partner libraries, ensuring recovery in case of server failures.

These measures ensure that articles published in Imperium Académico Multidisciplinary Journal remain accessible, intact, and protected against data loss over time.
